Sam Phillips: Don't Do Anything
For the past month or so, I've been playing the Sam Phillips album, Don't Do Anything (iTunes, Amazon, Wikipedia, AllMusic) very regularly. It's a great album, end to end, basically all the songs are good. You should listen. And if you don't like it, what's wrong with you? (Or maybe you just have different taste, I guess.)
This is the best YouTube embed I can find for the album:
Although you might be better off just going to samphillips.com, where you can listen as well.
She also did a Tiny Desk Concert with NPR Music, which is interesting because it shows that much of what I like about the album translates well into a live show, that it's not just about the production value (which is also good). Also, I've never seen a Stroh Violin before, which was interesting.
